AADM ROUNDTABLE: Discussing Race, Policing, & Difficult Conversations

MEETING DATE AND TIME TBD  |  FREE

Our society is experiencing some turbulent times and community members, parents, teachers, and leaders feel uncomfortable discussing difficult issues surrounding race, racism, sexism, immigration, police brutality and educational equity which only keep us divided. Beginning on January 9, 2019, on the second Wednesday of each month, Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) will provide a safe space and platform for citizens to have difficult conversations, ask questions, find solutions and learning from each other's experiences. Hosted by Mokah Speaks Podcast, these sessions will include simulations and hands-on activities through dialogue and face-to-face engagement, with an overall goal to gain mutual understanding, and improve race and community relations.

OLLI@UGA CINEMA + CONVERSATION

NEXT MEETING DATE TBA

The OLLI@UGA CINEMA@CINÉ Special Interest Group meets once month to watch a matinee film together and enjoy a discussion about the film, with refreshments and snacks — the cinema equivalent to a book club.  Join in for an enjoyable evening of cinema, conversation and camaraderie!
